Overview & Reviews
Other than having some new wheel designs, the IS 300 is unchanged this year.
- Outstanding driving dynamics, slick interior decor, competitive pricing.
- Small rear seat and trunk, not much storage space, styling more suited to baggy-panted masses.

Road trip - 2003 Lexus IS 300
By KJsIS - April 14 - 10:00 amI took a road trip from Texas to NY and back about 3 weeks after buying this Sportcross. I found that I had to use cruise control on long drives, otherwise the seat would become very uncomfortable for my gas pedal leg. Ive taken this trip before in a GTI VR6 and didnt experience any discomfort. Of course, this problem wouldnt be noticed during day to day driving, only on 600+ mile cruises. Besides that, the paint chipped much more than I expected for a premium car (GTI fared better). Other than those issues, Ive truly enjoyed the 2 months with this car.

Disappointed - 2003 Lexus IS 300
By Pathdoc - April 14 - 10:00 amGreat handling. Needs more power. Disappointed by clunking noise when shifting 5 speed (District Operations Manager finally admitted a design flaw in dual plate flywheel) Quirky auto climate control searches for right cabin temp. Dealer service arrogant and indifferent. Not what I expect from Lexus! Now have a dashboard rattle

Favorite Car Ever - 2003 Lexus IS 300
By jroosh - September 7 - 10:00 amI really like this car, my second Lexus. It is fun to drive and trouble- free, and you dont see very many on the road. Loaded for the money. Everything a 3-series is without the constant trips to the service department. Great dealerships.

The IS300 used to be cool... - 2003 Lexus IS 300
By BenzE320 - February 5 - 10:00 amI got my car in late 2002, its now 2003 and every homie g who can scam up $35k is driving one. I am truly sick of every honda teenager wanting to be me with the tail lights and oversized exhaust. I am happy with it overall, but its a bmw or infiniti for my next car, unless lexus grows up.

NOT FOR THE COLD STATES - 2003 Lexus IS 300
By Brenda - October 6 - 2:00 amLove the style, fun to drive. Not good on gas but not suprised. The biggest suprise was its performance on a snowy road!!! TERRIBLE! I relocated to a cold state just 2 months ago, bought this car and Im not sure what to do. I couldnt start accelerating from a stop and slid while driving. Tire dealer recommended slow down and drive a different car! Great car but only in a sunshine state.

good and bad - 2003 Lexus IS 300
By gogogirl - August 18 - 2:00 amSure the car handles pretty well but it needs more HP 260 would have been just fine not 220. The exterior body of the car is just about the best thing about this vechicle, but for over 30k I would invest in something else. To start there is no memory seating,no radio controls on the steering wheel, no leg space and lots of blind spots! Not a good deal for your money.

By Benign - July 19 - 10:00 amBest Dealer i have ever known, friendly and handy. Car is very agile and responsive, engine was the quitest on its class. Back draws: addiction for driving the car in every chance possible.

Understand what youre buying - 2003 Lexus IS 300
By 03is300 - June 27 - 8:14 pmNote: I am a car guy, Im not even 30 and this is my seventh car (not an idiot, just an enthusiast with a few extra nickels to burn on car payments), this is not a worthless review where I talk about how I dont like the cupholders or the color..... Aside from a few minor issues, this vehicle is a great choice, especially now that the prices have dropped dramatically. This is not your grandfathers lexus, it does not ride like its on rails and a lot of the luxury options are simply not included with this model. Previous vehicle: 2005 Audi A4 with every option imaginable, the two are not comparable on any level beyond purchase price. Overall a fantastic car, just understand what ur buying
